HGV electronic toll collection in Romania

At present, in Romania, charging for the use of the public road network for vehicles over 3.5t is done through the purchase of a vignette. This has a fixed price in euro (payable in lei) and can be purchased for a period of 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 1 year. From 1 January 2026, TollRo will be introduced for heavy goods vehicles and they will pay tolls based on a uniform tariff and the distance travelled. The TollRo system will be interoperable with similar systems in other EU countries.
